Coach Marcus Scott played a huge role in my success. My time at Destrehan High will always be memorable as Coach Scott held us players to a specific standard and didn't let us fall short of that. Dedication , consistency and , growth were few of many core values that Coach preached to his players. While being apart of the 14-0 undefeated championship season : Coach often reminded us "What you put in determines what you get out" and that helped shift the team's mindset for the greater good. Off the field his demeanor didn't change. Tough love is what I would refer to it as. Him being a father of 3 his insight on life and how to maneuver through tough times is what set him apart from others. Some look at Coach as another father figure. His love is sincere and genuine and wants the best for all of his student athletes. Being a graduate of Class 23' I can still call Coach and lean on him to help mentor me through whatever, and for that I will forever be grateful.
